KENDELLS’S STORY
Kendell, 6 years old, East Orange, NJ, Traumatic brain injury
While helping his mother sort out clothes to be donated, a dresser and TV suddenly became imbalanced and fell onto Kendell’s head. He immediately went into a coma and was rushed to the hospital. After four long weeks, he woke up from a coma, but had lost all motor skills on his right side due to his traumatic brain injury. Thanks to PSE&G Children’s Specialized Hospital, in just six months, Kendell learned to walk and talk again through personalized therapy. He has made countless strides in his attention span, concentration, memory, verbal communication, social behavior, and visual information processing. Kendell has a future full of potential waiting for him.
