CAPTAINS AND COMMITTEES

Participating on a committee provides you with the opportunity to test and expand your leadership skills as well as increase your professional contacts. Apply to be on a Committee HERE.

Being a member of the Leadership Team calls for reasonable time commitments, such as monthly committee meetings, fundraising events, networking events, and one/two Leadership Team meeting(s). Committee members will be expected to make The Stand events a priority in their schedule and will be asked to fundraise a minimum of $250 for the Big Event.  With a smaller committee structure than we’ve had in the past, much will be expected of you, so please only apply if you know you will have the time (2-4 hrs/week) and commitment to do so.  If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to send them to [email protected]

Corporate Partnerships Committee-

The Corporate Partnerships Committee is responsible for soliciting local and national businesses and corporations for monetary donations and/or in-kind donations for multiple uses including Dancer Giveaways, Incentives, and Silent Auction Items.  Responsibilities include contacting businesses and soliciting donations,  planning restaurant fundraisers, recruiting Corporate Dancer Teams, and securing meals and snacks for the Big Event.

Expect 2-3 hours/week to solicit donations, attend monthly committee meetings, and meet with potential partners.

You would be great for the Corporate Partnerships Committee if you are comfortable with cold calling, have great communication skills,  are able to meet deadlines, have persistence and tenacity, and have connections in the area.

 

Morale Committee-

The Morale Committee is responsible for recruiting dancers and serving as liaisons between dancers and the Leadership Team.  Responsibilities include coordinating recruitment events and outreach by assisting the Recruitment Director; retaining dancers who have signed up by assisting the Dancer Relations Director in relaying the vital information; assisting in the creation of the line dance, theme hours, and activities to keep dancers motivated throughout the year and Big Event.  Big Event responsibilities include performing the line dance every hour, keeping dancers engaged in programs & activities, coordinating theme hours and mail call.

Expect 3 hours/week (2 hr meeting every two weeks, 2 hr happy hour every two weeks, 2 hr communicating with your dancers/other moralers)

You would be great for this committee if you enjoy meeting people, you like to lead dance moves in front of large groups, you are effective at maintaining communications with groups of people over several months, and you motivate others.

 

Events Planning Committee-

This team member will assist the Events, Membership Development, and Operations Directors with events throughout the year.  Responsibilities include venue outreach, manning tables at events, set-up and tear-down, event planning, and recruitment & fundraising for events. Responsibilities for the Big Event include creating a layout and schedule, securing entertainment, decorations, and overall coordination of catering, security, medical, A/V, logistics, etc.

Expect 2-3 hours/week attending committee meetings, events, and work on your own.

You would be great for this position if you are a self-starter, organized, reliable and comfortable with event planning, coordination, and execution.
